BREAKING: King of the Extreme Grand Prix Info LEAKED!!

This evening we received reports from MAX-J headquarters that the company's servers were allegedly hacked. While authorities are still trying to determine the exact nature of the intrusion, social media outlets began sharing a document that MAX-J GM Masaaki "Genki" Sano has officially confirmed as the tournament order, participants, and format of the upcoming King of the Extreme Grand Prix that will take place in Antarctica in just over a month.

GM Sano held an emergency press conference and cautioned the reports that this information was not supposed to be released at this time and that, as a result, details - including the identities of the participants themselves -may change. However, Sano did confirm the following:

• The Grand Prix will feature sixteen competitors split into two divisions - the Ernest Shackleton and Robert Falcon Scott divisions, respectively - named after two famous explorers of Antarctica during the early 20th century.
  
• Each division will feature a double-elimination format, similar to the ENSOU! TV SEKAI Trios Cup. The winners of the respective divisions will meet in a Grand Final that will conclude the tournament.
  
• The quarterfinals of the tournament will feature a modified sport form rule set known as "Pankration rules" and each match will be a Best 2 out of 3 falls. The Pankration rules will follow the sport form rules with some exceptions. Fighters will wear 8 oz MMA gloves and be allowed to use closed fist strikes. However, all strikes to the head will be considered illegal.
  

An unconfirmed detail that Sano would not commit to would be whether the World Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championship would be defended at some point during the event. The GM punted on the question and said he was focused on ensuring that 11/23's title bout would go forward without a hitch.
