DEMON BRIGADE SET FOR V3 DEFENSE
MAX-J fans, mark your calendars for an action-packed showdown! On November 23rd, reigning World Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Hayato Hamada and Jin Hirai will defend their titles in a highly anticipated third defense (V3) against the formidable former champions, METAL HERO and Earth Warrior, a match that will take place as a POSEIDON-1 main event in Shimonoseki.
While the competitors were announced at the BOLD WARRIOR INVASION event in Canada last month, this matchup has been months in the making, as both METAL HERO and Earth Warrior have been on a mission to reclaim the belts they lost to Hamada and Hirai earlier this year. Following their impressive performance in recent trios matches, the All-Japan Sports and Wrestling Commission officially sanctioned this title bout, much to the excitement of the fans. Hamada and Hirai are determined to prove their dominance once again, with Hamada confidently promising, “We’ll show METAL HERO and Earth Warrior that the Demon Brigade’s strength is unshakable.” With high stakes and championship pride on the line, this is a match no one will want to miss.

KING OF THE EXTREME GRAND PRIX HEADS TO ANTARCTICA WITH SPECIAL FROST-PROOF VENUE
In groundbreaking news, MAX-J’s KING OF THE EXTREME Grand Prix is set to take place in the most extreme conditions pro-wrestling has ever seen: Antarctica. This daring event, scheduled for December, will be held under a mix of pro-wrestling and sport form rules, promising unforgettable encounters where physical endurance will be tested by both opponents and nature itself. While the main event will indeed take place on the icy continent, we have learned that the initial matches will be contested in Temuco, Argentina nestled into the scenic Patagonia region.
In preparation for the main event, which will be held in vicinity of Esperanza Base, MAX-J has contracted a renowned Hokkaido-based construction team specializing in low-temperature structures. This team will build a specially designed 1,000 seat geodesic dome to provide a safe event to protect the wrestlers and spectators. Engineered with frost-proof materials and equipped to withstand the region’s extreme temperatures, the dome will house the ring and protect fans and competitors from the elements while preserving the spectacle’s arctic atmosphere.
As General Manager Masaaki “Genki” Sano noted at a recent Q&A, “The KING OF THE EXTREME Grand Prix will showcase wrestling in its rawest, most unforgiving form. From the ice-bound landscape to the cold-focused dome design, we’re setting the stage for the most ambitious event in MAX-J history.”
"HAS SANO-SAN LOST HIS MIND?" ~ PUNDITS REACT TO KING OF THE EXTREME GP
Many pundits have written that we should have expected something like this sooner rather than later from Sano's leadership. With the success of the J1 SUMMIT, Sano has essentially restored his reputation as someone capable of leading a promotion to great heights, a journey many years in the making following the 2019 TOUKON ROAD super-tour that ended only four months into its maiden voyage. It only makes sense, therefore, that Sano unleashed would once again have MAX-J hit the road.
But many have wondered whether this time Sano has gone too far. After all, only a very select number of fans can even travel to the event and hosting a pro-wrestling event in Antarctica is unprecedented from a logistical perspective. Some have opined that MAX-J under Sano might be a trainwreck waiting to happen.
However, it's important to keep in mind two important facts. First, MAX-J's corporate ownership - the 4536 Group - is still emerging as a sports and entertainment leader, and events such as these generate headlines that satisfy shareholders. Sano's willingness to take risks like these might be one of the reasons they brought him back to lead the rebooted MAX-J. Second, the All-Japan Sports and Wrestling Commission's International Development Office played a major role in the planning phase. Given how concerned the AJSWC is about the seriousness and purity of competition, it's unlikely they would have pushed this forward without confidence that the event would succeed.
Has Sano bitten off more than he can chew by taking the MAX-J ambassadors and global heroes to one of the most dangerous climates on Earth? We're sure to find out!
As of right now, we don't have any additional information on the seeding and tournament structure. However, many expect that the AJSWC will release more information on 11/23 when all eyes are tuning into the World Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team title defense. So, stay tuned!
