The Punch Line are back on top in Pollo Road.
Of course, the win was not without controversy as Harv Norris and Rick Hull won the tag team title and tournament final after being down for the count. Referee Ted Thomas was occupied with Henry Yamazaki leaving the ring after AJ Knight hit a DDT on Hull, allowing Harv Norris to retrieve one of the two tag team title belts at ringside and smash AJ in the back of the head with it. He then rolled Hull on top of Knight and Thomas turned around to count the three!
Matchmaker Duke Womack has already filed an appeal on behalf of Knight and Yamazaki, but given that Ted Thomas did not see the infraction occur - it's unlikely anything will be able to be done to overturn that decision. The best case Knight and Yamazaki could hope for is a rematch.
More good news for the Punch Line as Roy Vezina was begrudgingly reinstated by Womack at the request of singles champion Kalidah, who was given that all clear by Dr. Nick Pierson of the Laurentide Commission. Kalidah went off the beaten path for some treatment and it seems to have done the trick, even if it has given him an even scarier appearance. Womack announced these two men will compete against one another at DANGEROUS ROAD on 9/2 in Milwaukee.
The Ambush showed up following the main event, preventing Harv Norris and Rick Hull from enjoying their moment too long. The Ambush consists of Red Tiger King, Mascara de Tigre Negro , and Sunfire. Only Tigre Negro is unknown to Pollo Road viewers, while RTK was around for much of the first year and Sunfire showed up during the casket match between Kalidah and RTK. It seems very clear that they are here to help level the playing field with Kalidah and Roy Vezina's ongoing war.
