The stream fuzzes in 480p before finally fixing itself. We see a small room with the Laurentide Promotions banner hanging in the background, Mandeville Nelson is standing in front of the podium. Although no crowd is shown, there is are murmurs as he adjusts the microphone on the podium.
MANDEVILLE NELSON
Thank you everyone for joining us here today, plus everyone who has tuned in at the last minute. I am Mandeville Nelson, I am the current spokesperson for the Laurentide Promotions here in the Great Lakes. In a few moments I am going to introduce Andrew Witt, a man serving as the representative of another man, a former wrestler... that you have likely heard of.
Nelson smirks.

A month or so ago, Pollo Bucket gave its notice that it would not be renewing its sponsorship deal with Laurentide Promotions which meant that a name change would be necessary. It also meant that my role changed quite a bit, but it is not a role that I am comfortable with so that is why today, I am appointing Teddy Davis as my successor.
There's a good deal of chatter as Nelson steps aside, allowing Andrew Witt to take the podium.
ANDREW WITT
Good morning! My name is Andrew Witt and I am quite sure that no one is surprised to know that Teddy did not want to do this himself.
Chuckles from the crowd.
ANDREW WITT
Teddy is a private individual and wishes to announce that as of Tuesday, July 23rd, 2024 - he is officially retired. Now, that's really no surprise as his last bout here in the Great Lakes was in April of 2018 vs. Julian Cutlass and it was a fine bout indeed.
The audience seems to agree.
ANDREW WITT
However Teddy harbours a secret or two... and since he is officially retired, he has informed me that he wishes to reveal one such secret.
Witt pulls up a mask, placing it on the podium.

This... is a Super Pollo mask. Teddy Davis is, was, Super Pollo. Yes, Teddy Davis has been one-third of Los Pollos Excelentes all along. Not the biggest secret, I'm sure many of you have had a hunch or two... but this little tidbit plays a big hand in repairing the fractured relationship between Laurentide Promotions and Pollo Bucket. That said, Pollo Bucket is still not interested in renewing its sponsorship deal but the rights to Pollo Road - the name, footage and other copyrights are in Davis' possession.
Witt shuffles some papers.
ANDREW WITT
Davis' time as Super Pollo allowed him to be a larger-than-life presence in the ring. Teddy is introverted, very much so... but Super Pollo was the exact opposite and thus, Teddy believes in infusing that spirit back into the promotion. The characters... colourful, bombastic and unique are needed more than ever in 2024. Every hard-working person in the Great Lakes that purchases tickets to these events and suddenly they are no longer rheumatic, they are able to transform themselves for an hour or two and live vicariously through the likes of Lynx, Matt Pulver and AJ Knight - as they vanquish their enemies, physically and verbally. Those enemies could represent a boss, a landlord or heck, their own parents or in-laws. Oh... and not to worry, Duke Womack has chosen to stay on board... so long as he doesn't have to deal with Pollo Bucket.
The audience laughs. Nelson returns to the podium.
MANDEVILLE NELSON
I'm confident that under Teddy Davis' leadership, Pollo Road will soar to new heights. Thank you all for your support and for being a part of this incredible journey.
ANDREW WITT
Super Pollo's leadership, but thank you, Mandeville. And thank you, everyone, for being here today. Here’s to the future of Pollo Road!
The press conference concludes with the audience applauding, the sound of cameras clicking, and a buzz of excitement filling the room.
