Fans! Welcome to the Pollo Road! I'm Sam Hewitt alongside the Purebred, Brian Shelzi as always. Tonight it's Crossroads and as you can see by the shot of the ring, we've got some steel cage action! Not one, but two bouts! We're going to kick things off with the Scramble! MEZA wanted competition, so matchmaker Duke Womack gave him four very capable challengers.
BRIAN SHELZI
No doubt about it, Sambo. They're filing into the ring right now in front of us. You've got Lynx, who's shown himself to be a threat - he was the first to score a pinfall on Pollo Dorado II, or Matt Pulver as we came to learn. We've got Sangre de Pollo, who's violent streak and well reported anger issues make him a VERY dangerous opponent in this kind of match. He also lost to MEZA back in February, so revenge is likely on his mind. AJ Knight... well, you'd look at AJ Knight and think he's the odd man out but that's why I like his chances. AJ Knight is nothing flashy, but he's always thinking. He can easily exploit everyone else in this match and walk away as champion. However, Sammy...
SAM HEWITT
The final participant is Kalidah, the masked alter ego of Eli Buchanan. No stranger to AJ Knight and a recent thorn in the side of champion MEZA and teammate Lynx, he's the largest fighter in the match by about twenty pounds. Kalidah brings a methodical approach to this Scramble, kind of in line with what you said about AJ Knight, Brian. A little different though.

To say the least. We've also neglected to mention the stipulations. Not only is this a championship cage match between five men, there's eliminations - you can be pinned or submitted or you can wilfully leave the cage under your own power. WHY? You might ask... well, the last person in the match will be forced to remove their mask or shave their head.

A lot on the line here.
The champion is naturally the last to arrive as the instrumental of "¿Comprendes, Mendez?" by Control Machete hits.

Stay tuned after this bout, too because we've got a special announcement and the big grudge bout between Ryan Samuels and Roy Vezina.
MEZA walks out to a solid reaction from the Toledo crowd, but the champ's eyes are fixated on one thing... Kalidah. The champion unfastens his belt and hands it off to a stage hand, then charges down the aisle to the ring and scales the cage. He reaches the top and stops, seemingly considering a jump... but realizes the height and no one is going to be silly enough to stand underneath him.
SAM HEWITT
As soon as MEZA drops down inside the match begins, but there is a three minute period where escapes are forbidden... although an elimination can still occur during that time - by pinfall or submission.
BRIAN SHELZI
We've got MEZA and four challengers: AJ Knight, Kalidah, Lynx and Sangre de Pollo. I got to think when he gets in that ring, they're all gunning for him. That said, the three minute period might by him some reprieve... I don't know if I want to score a fall on MEZA and have to fend off challengers for whatever's remaining until I can escape. We'll see.
MEZA climbs down onto the top rope and walks across to the corner... the bell sounds as Tubbs Thomas signals for it inside the ring. Gideon Dube is posted on the outside and we're off! MEZA remains perched on the top, his back against the cage as the other four are all cautious of one another and of the champion. AJ Knight gets a bit too close to Kalidah and those two pair off, while Sangre makes a beeline for MEZA and gets intercepted by Lynx and the Patrimonio duo begin work on him as MEZA comes down with a knee to the back! The two men grab Sangre and Irish whip him into the corner. Lynx grabs MEZA and whips him in, the champion executes a turning back splash - kind of like a corner Coffin Splash - and drops out of the way. Sangre staggers out and eats a front dropkick from Lynx! Meanwhile AJ Knight is being choked in the corner by Kalidah, hammering away on the arm trying to get some relief. MEZA takes notice of Kalidah and attacks! He hammers away on the back of the Dark Stalker, allowing AJ to slink away and catch some much needed breath. Kalidah falls into the corner and eats a number of kicks, then MEZA moves aside as Lynx rushes in and plants his feet on his thighs...
MONKEY FLIP!
RIGHT ONTO SANGRE DE POLLO!
Lynx and MEZA high five as the crowd pops for the spot. AJ gets up and shoves MEZA into Lynx, the two's heads collide! AJ grabs the champion and delivers a few knees to the midsection and then executes a snap suplex! AJ quickly recovers, still heaving though and has to take a moment as he tries to set him up for a second one... or maybe his swinging neckbreaker. That moment costs him though as Kalidah grabs him from behind and heaves him into the cage wall!

Seven years ago - AJ Knight and Eli Buchanan, who for anyone unaware... is the deranged man under that mask, battled inside a steel cage. These confines are not strange to those two, but on that particular night... it was AJ Knight that came out victorious.
AJ falls between the cage wall and the ropes as Kalidah backs MEZA against the ropes and cage, straightens him up and unleashes a mighty throat thrust. MEZA falls to his knees coughing as the crowd boos. Kalidah raises his arms and then grabs MEZA's shoulders/neck causing the champion to cry out in pain as he's forced to the mat! Thomas gets in to ask him if he submits and although he answers NO, Lynx interrupts the hold!
BRIAN SHELZI
Unless Lynx has a sudden change of heart, I think the champion's got some insurance in this match to save him in situations like this. It might be wise to eliminate Lynx first because I don't think he's going to climb on out of there.
The horn sounds to signify that escaping is now permitted, but no one is in the position to do so if they wanted. AJ Knight is down, Sangre is on his knees in the corner and MEZA has taken refuge under the ropes. Kalidah and Lynx are battling as they have been for months. Lynx's overhand slap strikes Kalidah's chest and ignites a "WOO!" from the Toledo crowd, the Dark Stalker returns fire with a gloved hand upside the head. Lynx staggers away and Kalidah hits the opposing ropes, picking up speed...
NO ONE HOME!
Kalidah's flying attack misses Lynx and lands him against the cage! Lynx grabs Kalidah and rams him into the other side! The masked Eli Buchanan falls to the mat and Lynx grabs an arm as the Toledo crowd pops!
LA MAGISTRAL!

BROKEN UP BY...
MEZA?!
The crowd boos as Lynx stumbles to his feet and shoves MEZA, who gives his mentor a shove back. The two trade some heated words before a commotion at ringside...
SAM HEWITT
Uh... there's a masked fan? man? at ringside here, who just jumped the guardrail...
The camera doesn't focus on this, but we see a steel chair fly up and into the steel cage landing close to Lynx and MEZA...
THE TWO MEN BONK HEADS!
Sangre pushes Lynx and AJ pushes MEZA, smacking them into each other. Sangre follows up with a low blow as AJ rolls up MEZA...

KALIDAH BREAKS IT UP!
Lynx falls to his knees and Sangre jumps on his back, applying Ala y Garra - his signature chickenwing/claw hold. Lynx tries to fight it, the crowd is begging him not to submit. He reaches out, "MIJO!" but MEZA is loopy from the inadvertent headbutt! Kalidah and AJ have continued fighting as Lynx taps out!

Lynx has been eliminated!

There you have it, Sambo. The party pooper is out of the bout!
Sangre basically hand delivers Lynx to Gideon Dube at the door. He grabs the steel chair that fell on the mat from the masked man, who has since been chased off by security, and cracks it across AJ's back! Kalidah catches AJ as he falls forward, but pushes him aside and allows him to crumple to the mat.
CHAIR SHOT TO KALIDAH!
Sangre nails Kalidah repeatedly, bashing him with the chair until he's down on the mat!
BRIAN SHELZI
So far Sangre de Pollo is the smartest guy in this match, Sam. He's taking care of Kalidah and AJ Knight, he's going to score a fall on MEZA and high tail it out of here. He's thinking!
Sangre holds the chair up to boos from the Toledo crowd, then rushes it into MEZA's head/shoulder as he's trying to get back up. MEZA falls back down and Sangre drops the chair on the mat, he grabs MEZA in a half nelson, pumphandle.... DRIVER!
VARCIELLA!
ON THE STEEL CHAIR!
He holds for the pin!

The champ is gone!
The Toledo crowd is more shocked than anything! There's murmurs as Sangre laughs at MEZA, shoving him away before he gets up and orders the door open. Gideon Dube tells Sangre he has to climb over the cage to escape, but the angry Pollo isn't having it! He kicks the door, but it doesn't budge! He tries a second time, but cusses in Spanish as it doesn't move. He grabs the chain link fence and begins climbing, nearly reaching the top before AJ Knight rushes up, unsteady and grabs a hold of his foot! Sangre tries to power up, but AJ grabs a better grip. Sangre then clutches the top of the cage with his arms, trying to kick at AJ with his free leg...
AJ PULLS HIM DOWN!
Sangre crashes to the mat in unceremonious fashion as the cage door is shut and locked, MEZA being helped away from ringside. AJ finds himself tangled in the ropes, but manages to get himself free. Sangre gets up and rushes again, trying to climb up. The drop from the cage wall hinders his progress some, which allows the battered Kalidah to crawl to the ropes and claw his way up. Sangre sees this and tries to frantically scale up, but loses his footing. Kalidah grabs him by the foot, then reaches up and grabs his gear's waistline - yanking him down to the mat!
BRIAN SHELZI
Kalidah is pissed! And for good reason, Sangre went to town on him with that steel chair! He didn't like Pollos to begin with, I'm sure he didn't need any more reason but Sangre gave him one!
SAM HEWITT
Also to help the viewer - Sangre de Pollo is the champion as we speak. Kalidah and AJ Knight have to do everything in their power to keep him from escaping the cage because if he does, their chance at the title is gone! Sangre escapes and keeps the belt. Kalidah and AJ are basically fighting not to lose at that point. One of these three will lose their mask or hair.
Kalidah hoofs Sangre in the midsection with a kick as he tries to get back up and fight, then delivers the Chaos Driver - a Northern Lights bomb. Before he can make the pin, AJ Knight rushes over and grabs Kalidah and drives him into the cage wall! Knight then dumps him between the cage wall and the ropes, hindering his ability to break up the pin a little bit more. AJ covers Sangre!

AJ stays cool, grabbing Sangre up off the mat and pulls him to his feet. He tries to hammerlock his arm, but Sangre twists out and headbutts AJ! Knight staggers and Sangre tries to run away, but AJ pulls him back in...
DDT!
The crowd pops as Sangre gets spiked! AJ clutches his hand to his face, then takes it away to show that Sangre's headbutt has busted him open above the eye and is clearly causing him pain. AJ shakes it off and rolls Sangre's dead weight onto his back, hooking the leg...

3-NO!
Kalidah breaks it up! AJ grabs Kalidah's mask and attempts to deliver a forearm, but the mandible claw gets applied! AJ stands up, trying to backpedal and escape the grasp but Kalidah is essentially dragged to his feet to maintain his hold. Kalidah rams AJ into the cage wall, then keeps on him as AJ slumps between the top and middle rope... referee Gideon Dube calls it from the outside!
MASON MARVELLE
AJ Knight has been eliminated!
AJ Knight has been eliminated!
Kalidah is so entranced by the mandible claw on AJ that Sangre groggily gets to all fours and scurries across the ring, falls between the ropes and starts the ascent to the top. Thomas gets AJ freed up as Kalidah does a slow head turn to see Sangre climbing. Kalidah marches over and climbs onto the ropes, attempting to grab the foot of Sangre... but misses! Sangre climbs over the top, but unluckily gets some of his attire stuck on the chain link fence. Kalidah dashes up the wall and grabs his mask, trying to pull Sangre in...
RED MIST!
Kalidah sprays Sangre's face!
SAM HEWITT
The poison mist! Kalidah just sprayed Sangre de Pollo with the poison mist!
BRIAN SHELZI
And he had a good hold of Sangre's mask, so he got it full force!
Sangre is still being held by his mask, but the champion is flailing! He's trying to swat Kalidah away without being able to see him! Kalidah pulls him over the cage a bit more...
SAM HEWITT
Oh no! No! Come on, Eli! Don't!
AVALANCHE STYLE CHAOS DRIVER!
With Kalidah perched on the top rope and Sangre hanging over the top of the cage, the Dark Stalker brings Sangre back into the middle of the ring!
BRIAN SHELZI
What an impact! What a sickening thud! Zero regard for Sangre! Zero regard for himself... I love it!
Kalidah rolls over, putting his weight on Sangre's chest!

3!
The bell sounds as the cage gets raised up. Medics swarm the ring to check on Sangre and Kalidah, but we also see the Herkmen and Lotte get in the ring! Lotte checks on her man, telling him he did it over and over. The Herkmen are told to help Kalidah to his feet and they do, but Sangre de Pollo disobeys the doctor's orders and crawls to the feet of Kalidah. The crowd murmurs as Sangre kneels...
"RELEASE ME!"
Kalidah frees his arms from the Herkmen and grabs the laces of Sangre's mask, undoing them... then yanks it off! Sangre throws back his hair, revealing a Mexican man with war paint adorning his face. Sangre sneers before collapsing back to the mat, Kalidah holds up the Pollo mask with disdain. Referee Tubby Thomas hands him the championship title and Lotte snatches it, quickly wraps it around the waist of her man and fastens it.
SAM HEWITT
We may have fallen into dark times, Brian. Kalidah reigns supreme, besting four other fighters this evening.
BRIAN SHELZI
Including a very game Sangre de Pollo, who despite the loss seems pretty happy to rid himself of that mask. How poetic it is that Kalidah, some eight years after winning the mask of El Vainillo... has finally won the mask of a Pollo.
Our final scene is the dark army of Kalidah, the Herkmen and Lotte all standing tall over the fallen body of Sangre de Pollo and the medical team attending to him.
