FOOL'S GOLD
4/1/2024 in Hamilton, Ontario
The fans waited eagerly as all twenty entrants in the show's battle royal began entering. Surprise entrant #1 in the Battle Royal was Brutus Smith, a 7' / 450lbs monster from the Canadian Rockies. Smith got a huge pop as longtime fans will remember him from his run in Pollomania back in 2015. Since then he has toured with Western Canada's Pro-Wrestling Grand Prix group. His arrival did not sit well with Kalidah, who previously aligned with Brute in the aforementioned Pollomania stint. Speaking of huge pops. Surprise entrant #2 was Ryan Samuels, a former tag team champion in LRX and someone who bears a striking resemblance to El Cerdo Mostaza. The Punch Line were livid! Roy Vezina, who stood on the second rope behind his teammates leapt off and immediately grabbed his knee. As Samuels slid into the ring, Harv Norris and Rick Hull rushed him but ate double lariats! Medical staff helped Vezina out of the ring, but the Midwest Express wasn't going to let ring ropes stop him! He exited the ring and Vezina had to give up the charade, blasting off from the ringside area. Security ordered Samuels back to the ring. Surprise entrant #3 was Pierre the Masked Canuck, who rushed the ring and immediately took the fight to the two remaining members of the Punch Line alongside Ryan Samuels.
The first notable spot was a bunch of fighters ganging up on Brutus Smith, the largest man in the match. The group worked him into the corner, then began a series of running attacks. Devlin Masters missed his and the train kept rolling with everyone attacking him! Brutus Smith came in and flattened the Deathmatch Messiah in the corner, leaving him crumpled underneath the bottom rope. With the abundance of teams and units in the bout, the "every man for himself" tagline did not apply so well to begin. Sangre de Pollo and Ultimo Pollo IV even managed to get on the same page, uniting to dump Jin Hirai out of the match. Things broke down between the two when Crazy Boy and Jeremy Squire attacked Ultimo, knocking him into Sangre. The two Pollos argued until Ultimo grabbed Sangre and dumped him over the top rope to a loud ovation! Sangre was livid on the floor, telling Ultimo he was dead! Unfortunately for WAG1, MAX Japan's Balloon Yamazaki made his presence felt and took the two recently turned fan favourite brothers out of the match with a double lariat!
Roy Vezina returned to ringside as Pierre the Masked Canuck was attempting to save Ryan Samuels from being eliminated by Harv Norris and Rick Hull, the captain of the Punch Line dumped Pierre over the top as Samuels broke free. Vezina begged off, but got saved by Shinzo "Snapshot" Takamori! Vezina shouted "HOCKEY!" at the MAX rep, but Takamori shook his head and put his thumb to his chest, "ME!" before attacking. Norris and Hull were eliminated by Samuels in the meantime, leaving the captain in there by himself! Kalidah eliminated Ultimo Pollo IV during all of this. Lynx and Kalidah fought as did Newton and Azalo, AJ Knight stayed low in the corner trying to avoid as many confrontations as he could. Azalo dumped Orville, allowing AJ Knight to dump Azalo. Escaping Takamori's onslaught, Vezina tried to seek safety elsewhere but Samuels spotted him and Vezina hopped the ropes and eliminated himself! The crowd booed as Vezina mocked Samuels, but popped huge when Samuels jumped over the ropes to the floor and gave chase! Despite being a full foot shorter and a hundred pounds less, Balloon Yamazaki barrelled into Brutus Smith with ferocity and backed the big man into the ropes! The rest of the fighters took the chance presented to them and eliminated both!
Kalidah stood back as the MAX reps, Earth Warrior and Shinzo Takamori seemed to unite and go after AJ Knight and Lynx respectively. The masked Eli Buchanan kept a keen eye on the action, but Devlin Masters blindsided him with an attack! As Kalidah turned to see who had the audacity to do it, Lynx and AJ threw him out to the floor! Earth Warrior sent Lynx packing and AJ Knight threw out Takamori. Kalidah grabbed Masters foot from outside the ring and tried to pull him out, but Lynx and Kalidah continued their brawl from Spring Chicken. Earth Warrior threw AJ Knight to the mat with a crucifix hold, but released it (no pins of course) and tried to charge him... but AJ back body dropped him over the top! Devlin Masters grabbed AJ and sent him out right after Warrior! The crowd was stunned as the bell sounded and Masters looked around confused, then smiled wide as he threw up his hands and fell to the mat - kicking his legs and screaming! He ran up the aisle, grabbed the Pollo Coin from the podium and hurried backstage.

During the bout, Nizbel executed his game plan well - using quick attacks and underhanded tactics. However, Lynx grabbed MEZA as he rolled out to the floor in frustration and seemed to calm the young champion down. MEZA returned to the ring and pushed hard, taking the initiative in many exchanges and contorting Nizbel in many different ways. After the fifth or six rope break, Nizbel was flustered. Even a late match attempt from Lotte to trip MEZA up wasn't enough to knock the champion off his game. Nizbel leapt onto his back as MEZA turned around, but MEZA secured the arms and landed an inverted crucifix powerbomb - dropping Nizbel on his stomach and face! The champion rolled him onto his back and secured the three!
Sam Hewitt posted on social media following the bout, praising the champion in his defense. Noting that MEZA didn't hesitate to capitalize on his opportunities after Lynx's pep talk, saying that Nizbel was a dangerous opponent but an inexperienced one just the same. MEZA will need this same type of game plan for his upcoming bout vs. "Dare" Devlin Masters.
