It will be an exciting card for 2/10 with a few surprises in store both in terms of the matches that were announced and that which wasn't announced. MAX-J CEO GM Masaaki "Genki" Sano detailed the matches in a press conference where several MAX-J fighters were present. See the notes below:
- On the V3 defense of the World Jr. tag titles, METAL HERO and Earth Warrior were not present but issued a statement via video. METAL HERO took a more active role and said that he had brought his teammate Earth Warrior to stay in his training complex due to the recent controversy surrounding the aborted title defense that was supposed to take place before the end of 2023. He has said that he will instill "android-level" discipline into Earth Warrior while "channeling the fire and passion" of the eco-activist fighter. Overall, the tone was positive. METAL HERO said that he looked forward to meeting the former PMLL Cruiserweight Champion in the ring, as well as the new-look Jimmy Winner.
- Kalidah will be making his debut in a MAX show in a match that was apparently requested by his opponent. "Genius" Himura was at the press conference and has said that in 2024 he wants to make a run at becoming the ace of the MAX-J ambassadors and felt that Kalidah would be the right opponent to test his skills, as he is aware that the man has a long history in pro-wrestling, and thus will become the "assassin of legends" starting on 2/10.
- There was some discussion of a chessboxing match between ZENKI and David Troy, but medical clearance issues have caused the match to be shoved off. In its place, ZENKI will team with his VAJURA Star Cluster teammate, "Starboy" Shigeru Toyama, to take on the PMLL Cruiserweight Champion MEZA and his mentor/teammate LYNX. ZENKI has said that he views this as an opportunity to score a fall over MEZA and boost a claim for a title shot. When asked what he would do as PMLL Cruiserweight Champion, he said that if such a day were to pass the belt would never leave the shores of Japan. While ZENKI is always one to talk a big game, he said that he was committed to wrestling full-time in 2024 and that the fans should get used to his regular presence. The Zenki Zealots were out in force at the press conference with many of audience kneeling as he spoke in what contin'sues to showcase the former and possibly still MAX ace's incredible following.
- Two cruiserweight legends in Matt Pulver and Thunder Mask will each team with two superheavyweights in a tag match that is "sure to shake the ring". Thunder Mask has recently taken the "Fightin' Buddha" Yamazaki under his wing and has said that he's whipped the big man into amazing shape. Yamazaki was humble but said that he would appreciate the opportunity to showcase his recent improvements.
- MAX also announced the signing of Hajime Nishimoto, the first rookie fighter under the new MAX-J, simultaneously with the 4536 Group announcing that they had purchased a 3,000 sq meter athletic training facility that will be kwown as the official MAX DOJO. Nishimoto just turned 25 years old and hails from Funabashi city in Chiba prefecture. Nishimoto's sporting background centers on fencing and competed at the international level, traveling and competing across Europe in the épée category. While in Europe, he was introduced to catch wrestling. Initially, he cross-trained so that he would be a stronger fighter in fencing competition but eventually a fascination took hold that he has decided to pursue officially. He was humble when introduced to the audience and said while that he was aware he had a lot to learn, he was looking forward to starting a new journey and debuting against Pollo Road's Jin Hirai.
