LIGHTNING NEWS!!
With the announcement that METAL HERO and Earth Warrior will make their V1 defense of the World Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championship in Chicago, Illinois for the Pollo Bucket 20th Anniversary Special, the MAX-J brand has been pushing the tag team champions front and center in the media to ensure that the defense – which, taking place in another country, will formally establish the world-level status of the belt – receives widespread coverage across the media.
Earth Warrior, who stands at the zenith of his professional wrestling career, recently returned from an excursion competing in the Pollo Road’s Masked League. Despite compiling a losing record, he managed to score a victory over the promotion’s current World Cruiserweight Champion, Pollo Dorado II, avenging a loss he suffered at CRUISERWORLD! in July. In his comments to the media, he said that he learned a lot from the experience, referred to Pollo Road as “lucharesu” because he felt that the lucha-inspired style of many of the wrestlers actually matched quite well the Japanese pro-wrestling way. He said that he would dedicate the V1 defense to the Bonin Flying Fox, a fruit bat native to the Bonin Islands whose habitat is currently endangered.
With his tag team partner, METAL HERO, the two have been training in a U.S. government-owned high-security facility in Okinawa to which we in the media have not been able to acquire access. While Earth Warrior comes in the morning and exits to a hotel in the evening, METAL HERO has not been spotted leaving the facility since he entered its doors on August 1st. Many speculate that this is due to METAL HERO’s historical connection to World War II as a cybernetic soldier developed by U.S. nuclear scientists to aid a rebellious faction in the Imperial Japanese Army that sought to depose Emperor Hirohito and bring the war to an end with a negotiated settlement instead of an unconditional surrender. What we do know is that when reporters asked Earth Warrior about what went on within the facility, the masked environment simply replied that “it is sustainable”.
The eyes of the world will be on this duo representing not only the MAX-J brand but all of Japan in one of the largest metropolitan areas of the United States. This match is getting so much attention that Earth Warrior’s alma mater, Fukuoka Daiichi High School, is going to have an assembly in the auditorium that will broadcast ENSOU! TV’s livestream of the World Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championship.
The entire event will be broadcast live and be available on demand for paid subscribers of ENSOU! TV’s ChouZen streaming platform.
