Ladies and gentlemen... WELCOME TO RAINBOW ROAD!

This event is being held to honour Ohio's own Rainbow Pro, a short-lived promotion that helped launched the careers of our very own Los Pollos here in the United States. I will now hand over the microphone to Pollo Road matchmaker, Mandeville Nelson.

Nelson walks over, retrieves the microphone and rubs his bald head.

MANDEVILLE NELSON

Thank you, Mason. Fans, I would like to formally introduce you to a longtime, close, personal friend... Harold Balzac.

A well dressed man in his 70s steps forward with the assistance of his cane.

MANDEVILLE NELSON

Harold, it was your love and your passion that gave many young wrestlers in this area a chance to show their stuff. We're pleased to have you here this evening.

Harold nods.

HAROLD BALZAC

Mandy, thank you so very much. I am so happy to be here, you all are so very kind and gracious to celebrate... an old man's dream. Well, I was younger then of course, but it was a dream nonetheless. I wish there were tapes of this endeavour but on the other hand, it's made me cherish these memories just the same.

Nelson pats him on the back.

MANDEVILLE NELSON

Harold, as the histories of Rainbow Pro and Pollo Road intermingle this evening, I would like you to be the one to draw a name from this tumbler to determine who will face our very own Pollo Dorado II in tonight's main event.

Balzac nods as Nelson begins the tumbling process. As it stops, he opens it up and Balzac sticks his hand inside and pulls out a name. He reads the paper as his face lights up. Nelson puts the microphone to Harold's face.

HAROLD BALZAC

LYNX! Rainbow Pro's very own!

Mandeville Nelson shoots a telling look at someone off screen as Balzac reacts to the Pollovision showing us a glimpse backstage, where Lynx can be shown being congratulated by some members of the roster while AJ Knight is leaned back in his chair, a shit eating grin across his face as he stares directly at the camera. Back in the ring, Nelson is looking at his feet.

MANDEVILLE NELSON

There you have it! Lynx vs. Pollo Dorado II for the Cruiserweight title! But first, Harold - there's a special treat for you. Two of Rainbow Pro's earliest roster members have come here to compete...

"Ride the Lightning" by Metallica begins as Thunder and Storm Ninja each make their way down to the ring, slapping hands with fans. The two masked men jump up into the ring and shake hands with Balzac, before holding the ropes to allow him to exit.

BRIAN SHELZI

The two brot--what?!?

Sam Hewitt can be seen in the background trying to alert Mandeville Nelson, but the feed cuts backstage. A chair flies across the screen, crashing into the wall with a metallic thud.

?:
WHERE IS THAT GOD DAMN CHICKEN?!

No, it's not an angry customer. It's a tough customer, it's the monstrous El Cerdo Mostaza storming into view, looking almost animalistic as he stakes the backstage area.

EL CERDO MOSTAZA

DORADO!?!?!? WHERE YOU AT, BOY!?

Knocking over chairs and flipping over tables, Mostaza stomps down the hallway before stopping in front of a locker room door labelled “David Troy”. With his back to the camera, we hear Cerdo being told that the roster is in the community hall. Mostaza grabs the man off screen and chucks him into the locker room door, smashing it open. He quickly checks, but no one is in there. The camera cuts back to ringside as Nelson assures Hewitt he's got this under control and Hewitt nods and heads back to the deck. Shelzi hands him his head set.

BRIAN SHELZI

Well, I think he's on his way out, Sambo...

The crowds murmur turn into a roar as Cerdo storms through the crowd, clearing a way to the ring as he pushes over chairs, throwing and kicking a few. The Ninjas stand tall inside the ring, Harold Balzac has been escorted backstage but Mandeville Nelson remains at ringside. Mostaza spots him...

EL CERDO MOSTAZA

I WANT DORADO!

He makes a beeline for the Pollo Road matchmaker, but Thunder Ninja hits him with a baseball slide! Mostaza stumbles into the guardrail, but recovers in time as Storm Ninja soars over the top.

MOSTAZA CATCHES HIM!

Mostaza chucks him into Thunder Ninja!

BRIAN SHELZI

A man just got powerbombed into his brother!

Mostaza grabs Thunder Ninja off the floor, goozling him and hoists him up...

CHOKESLAM!

He choke slams Thunder onto Storm, then backs up... heaving. He snarls as he snatches the microphone from Marvelle and climbs up into the ring.

EL CERDO MOSTAZA
I want that chicken ass punk! Come out here and face me like a man!

The place comes unglued as Pollo Dorado II walks out, but the boos begin as the security detail put themselves between Dorado and the ring.

EL CERDO MOSTAZA

I'LL COME TO YOU THEN!

Mostaza drops the mic and the crowd roars, but boo once more as Mandeville Nelson finds himself as the one to stand up to Mostaza. He stands on the apron, asking Mostaza to calm down - putting his hands on the big man's shoulders and speaking calm---

A LARIAT TO NELSON!

The crowd goes silent as the security detail looks conflicted, and split up - dashing down to attend to Pollo Road's fallen matchmaker! Mostaza paces around as Dorado is flanked by even more security, who push him to the back.

EL CERDO MOSTAZA
YOU CAN'T HIDE FOREVER!

Mostaza angrily storms off, leaving through the crowd and having no issue doing so - as they disperse to get out of his way. Both Sam Hewitt and Brian Shelzi are off the headset, checking on Nelson as the show heads to break...

Fans, I'd like to welcome you back to the program. We are going to get through this as best we can. If you missed it, a lot of commotion in the early moments of this broadcast. Lynx will be challenging Pollo Dorado II for his cruiserweight crown later on tonight, but perhaps more importantly and certainly pretty newsworthy... El Cerdo Mostaza has attacked Mandeville Nelson! During the break Nelson was put into a neck brace and strethered into an ambulance to a local hospital. We will have more up--

SAM HEWITT

It's about the respect I'd expect from these guys...

“Queso” plays as all three members of WAG1 roll out. Royalty seems to be the inspiration for Hirai’s outfit whereas the Squire and Crazy Boy are unremarkably dressed. Squire sits on the middle rope and creates an easy opening for the WAG1 leader.

CRAZY BOY

OH-HI-OHHHH, listen up!

SAM HEWITT
WAG1 is not getting the Ohio stamp of approval. Nor mine.

BRIAN SHELZI
Do they even need it?

Squire shows off some unbelievable reflexes as he catches a drink thrown at him from the audience. He looks to CB as if to say, “should I?” Squire spins around and shotputs the drink back into the crowd.

Before ya’ll greasy, boring losers get thrown out, let me introduce to you: THE greatest wrestler to pass through Rainbow’s grimy ass; THE only reason Rainbow survived as long as it did; THE...

GREATEST TO DO IT – JIN HIRAI!

Jin closes his eyes and absorbs the disdain.

JIN HIRAI
Let me keep it one hundred with you, Ohio. I don’t need to be here. I ascended this shoddy attempt at a company years ago, you feel me? But the Pollo Bucket wanted me to glow this bitch up one last time. So before ya’ll start saying thank you, let me just save you the time. Cleveland... you are most welcome. You’re welcome for bein’ here. You’re welcome for makin’ Rainbow famous. And the gift keeps on giving, for real. You’re welcome for submitting my entry to be in tonight’s main event.

BRIAN SHELZI
Hirai versus Dorado II would be a deep cut, Sambo. Hirai and the Pollos are a ten-plus-year conflict.

JIN HIRAI
Everybody knows I’m the man to beat Dorado and I’m even willing to do it in front of you clowns!

“Death of a Clown” by The Kinks kicks on and the crowd just erupts.

My makeup is dry and it cracks 'round my chin
I'm drowning my sorrows in whisky and gin

SAM HEWITT
Oh wow! Of all the surprises folks, this one will be the weirdest. It’s Chuckles the Clown!

BRIAN SHELZI
I hear he’s the only clown people aren’t afraid of because they mostly just feel sorry for him. Can ya blame them?

A sad chain-smoking clown trudges from behind the curtain. WAG1 is repelled to the other side of the ring with faces of horror. Chuckles flicks his cigarette by the wayside and rolls in. The WAG1 acolytes hop out of the ring while Jin hangs halfway out.

CHUCK-LES! CHUCK-LES!

Chuckles is begging Hirai to meet him in the middle of the ring whereas Hirai is looking for assistance. CB and Squire refuse to intervene, citing their fear of clowns.

BRIAN SHELZI
Hey here comes Tubby, but I don’t know if you can have an impromptu match when there’s an unwilling competitor.

Ted Thomas runs over to Mason Marvelle and gives him instruction. There’s some back and forth leaving Marvelle confused.

MASON MARVELLE
Ladies and gentlemen—By the Pollo powers that be, this match is now official!

The bell rings and Hirai reluctantly meets Chuckles in the middle.

BRIAN SHELZI
So Pollo Bucket can just sanction matches anytime they want now?

Chuckles winds up for a punch but Hirai catches him with a spinning back kick to the gut. The clown responds by coughing up a wad of confetti. Hirai sends him to the ropes with a flurry of kicks before whipping him across the ring. Each step causes his shoes to squeak. Out of breath and barely on the other side of the ring, Chuckles slows himself down to a full stop and bends over in a coughing fit. Thomas intervenes to ask Chuckles if he can continue. Hirai doesn’t wait for an answer and receives immediate punishment when a prop flower squirts a non-clear liquid in Hirai’s eyes.

BRIAN SHELZI
If this were last month, Thomas would have called for the bell already.

Thomas doesn’t waste any time putting on gloves and checks on Hirai’s status. Meanwhile, Chuckles retrieves a never-ending rainbow baton from his sleeve and holds it high as if to admire it. He charges at a blinded Hirai and the weapon attack is ducked! RANHEI! Chuckles is slammed onto his own baton. Despite flipping a body as girthy as Chuckles, Hirai can maintain the position for the pin. Tubby slaps the 1-2-3! The crowd boos as "Queso" begins again, Hirai is hauled to his feet by his stablemates who lift them onto their shoulders and begin doing a dance as we go to break...

A bit of controversy heading into our next match...

Hewitt begins narrating a clip being shown of Kalidah's mask being examined by Pollo Road officials, who detect it has been tampered with. The mask is cut open to reveal a hard helmet-like shell, which Hewitt states was probably first used in the Casket Match vs. Red Tiger King back in March but was clearly not checked for his match last month vs. Pierre the Masked Canuck. Shelzi adds that an "anonymous" individual had contacted Pollo Road offices to ask them to check it out - Hewitt wonders if they're looking at him now as "Dare' Devlin Master's entourage comes filing out to Saliva's "Badass" - "Dare" Devlin comes out behind them, bouncing around like he's in a mixed martial arts walkout. Someone behind him is pushing a shopping cart full of weapons, Masters is mouthing the words of his theme as he gets all bowed up to various fans. He climbs inside the ring and Marvelle's microphone is immediately snatched away. Devlin tosses it to an entourage member who looks absolutely terrified.

ENTOURAGE MEMBER

Uh... ahem... hey, I mean... HEY! Sit down and shut up, it's "DARE" DEVLIN MASTERS!

Boos accompany the rather tame announcement, but Marvelle snatches the microphone back and draws the ire of Masters but the sounds of "Hotel California" distract him. The song turns into "Killing Kind" by Damned Anthem and the fans are giddy as the lights go down, then come back up in bursts of red and black as Kalidah marches out with Lotte in front, arms wide.

SAM HEWITT

Interesting to note that the rule book states fighters may only have one second at ringside, but Devlin Masters has his whole entourage out here. I'd say money talks, but Pollo Bucket and the Buchanan family have never gotten along too well so it may not have taken that much persuasion to overlook the rules.

Devlin leaps into action as Kalidah climbs through the ropes, kicking him back to the floor! Devlin leaves the ring after him, but finds the Dark Stalker isn't going to be caught off guard so easily. Kalidah grabs him and rams him into the ring post, which sends the social media sensation down to the ground. Kalidah is the first to introduce weaponry into the match as he grabs a steel chair from the timekeeper's area, then waits as Masters finds his footing... A CHAIR TO THE MIDSECTION!

AND ONE TO THE BACK!

With Masters on all fours, Kalidah ditches the chair and grabs Masters in a front chancery, and lifts him up...

CHAOS DRIVER!

The Northern Lights Bomb connects on the arena floor!

SAM HEWITT

That is just blatant disregard for fighter safety right there.

BRIAN SHELZI

Calling him a fighter is a big stretch, Sambo.

SAM HEWITT

Well, he's going to have to find some fight if he wants to contend in this bout, Brian.

Kalidah peels the influencer off the floor and drags him back to the apron, props him up and pushes him inside. Kalidah grabs the middle rope and goes to pull himself up, but a member of the entourage rushes over to buy his man some time. Kalidah thumps him with a thrust to the throat, sending him down! Lotte stands over him and cackles! The bell sounds as Kalidah climbs inside and places a hand on Masters' throat - a makeshift cover.

1-HE PULLS HIM UP!

Kalidah spots something and motions to Lotte, who joyfully skips through the entourage - who all part for her. She grabs the shopping cart full of goodies and pushes it to ringside, Kalidah exits the ring and he too walks through the entourage... and none of them even try a thing. Kalidah turns and startles one, dropping him to his knees in a sob. The Dark Stalker turns his attention back to the shopping cart and pulls a barbed wire board from it, before sitting it against the guardrail. Masters yells at Kalidah, who turns and throws his energy drink in Kalidah's face! The masked man is blinded! Masters batters him with punches, though just how effective they are is anyone's guess - "Dare' Devlin then grabs Kalidah by the mask and chucks him into the barbed wire board! Kalidah crashes through it and into the guardrail! The crowd gasps as Kalidah drops forward, the barbed wire pulling skin from his back! Masters rummages through the shopping cart, tossing things aside before pulling out...

BRIAN SHELZI

Well, it is baseball season. If corked bats don't fly, I don't see a barbed wire one being legal.

Masters holds the barbed wire bat up for all to see and then brings it down across Kalidah's back! He arches in pain, but Masters brings it down a few more times! Masters looks at Lotte, pointing it towards her and asks her to watch this... and takes a batter's stance. He waits for his pitch as Kalidah gets back up...

SWING

AND

A MISS!

Kalidah headbutts him and Masters falls to his knees, dropping the bat. Lotte lets Kalidah know about this and he tries to reach for it, but Masters delivers a headbutt of his own - right to Kalidah's groin! Masters yells at his entourage and someone produces a chair, which he's then ordered to hold steady as Masters gets up and rams Kalidah's head into it! Masters shakes his own head, grabs Kalidah's mask and throws him face first into the guardrail before talking some smack! The fans boo as he taunts, then takes a sip of his energy drink before spitting it into the crowd! "Dare" Devlin grabs Kalidah up and yells some choice words for Lotte as he leads the masked man to the ring and shoves him under the bottom rope. Kalidah starts crawling back to his feet but Masters rushes in and stomps on his hand!

SAM HEWITT

Nothing technical about that.

BRIAN SHELZI

If you're expecting anything technical out of this kid, Sambo, I'd say you set the bar too high.

With Kalidah's hand trapped under his foot, Masters uses his heel to dig in and cause more pain. He slaps Kalidah upside the head repeatedly, calling him "ELI!" with every shot. He begins ripping at the mask, but this draws Lotte up onto the apron. Referee Ted Thomas sees the entourage moving toward her and begrudgingly relents to her being inside the ring, but her damsel in distress routine is a ruse... as Kalidah mists Masters in the face! The green mists covers his face as he falls to the mat and rolls out, which also gets the entourage away from Lotte as they rush back to attend to their meal ticke--err, man. Water and towels aplenty as Masters cries out in confusion, claiming he cannot see! Lotte rushes to Kalidah's side asking if he's OK and fixing his mask.

SAM HEWITT

I do have to remind fans that despite all the plunder and fighting on the outside, this is a standard fifteen minute match. Ted Thomas has been very forgiving on the count outs and weapon use is... well, I won't say permitted... but outside the ring is fair game.

BRIAN SHELZI

It's an interesting approach, but from what I understood when I did my referee course - it's basically to dissuade the fighters from being outside the ring. If you're not a plunderin' type, you don't want to stick around out there with someone who is... and someone who is doesn't stand to gain an advantage if his opponent won't go out after him. In this case, I think Kalidah is just wanting to teach Masters a lesson but the kid came prepared and seems ready to die on this hill. I can admire that, I guess.

Masters shouted something at his group during all that and they've gone and set up a barbed wire board over top a half dozen chairs in the entrance aisle. Masters is still wiping the mist out of his eyes, but Kalidah is up and out of the ring - making his way toward him. The entourage tries to buy him time, but Kalidah grabs one and launches him into the others! Another one jumps on Kalidah's back, but Lotte excitedly runs up and digs her nails into his back and drags them down! The man screams as Kalidah holds onto his head, preventing him from jumping off... then launches him overhead onto the floor! He lands with a thud and hauls off, but Masters comes running wild with the barbed wire bat above his head! Kalidah hoofs him in the face with a big boot, dropping him and the bat. Kalidah fixes his mask, having been jumbled up when the entourage member jumped on his back. He goes to grab the barbed wire bat, but Masters grabs the end and brings it straight up into Kalidah's groin! Masters drops it and hurries to his feet, grabs Kalidah and body slams him onto the barbed wire bat! He falls back against the guardrail, but he can only look on in horror...

KALIDAH SITS UP!

The barbed wire bat is dangling out of his back, but Kalidah sits up indeed... then topples over to the side. Masters laughs, and laughs, and laughs before pulling himself up. He grabs the bat and yanks it out of Kalidah's skin, then sits it down on the ground and drags Kalidah... placing his head between his legs and sets him up...

PILEDRIVER ON THE BARBED WIRE BAT!

The crowd oohs as the bat is now sticking to the back of Kalidah's mask, but Masters yanks it out without care - some strands of hair come with it. He chucks it aside and tries pulling Kalidah up, but the Dark Stalker isn't coming easily.

BRIAN SHELZI

Here's the trouble with doing all this outside. Thomas has not made a single attempt to count either man out all match, so he's not going to do it here. Devlin Masters has to get Kalidah back inside the ring to attempt a pinfall, but that's a hell of a task for a TRAINED PROFESSIONAL much less this guy. Or you could do that...

What's left of his entourage comes over and tries to help, but Thomas admonishes them and orders them to the back to a huge pop! Kalidah is thrown against the ring apron in anger by the group as security comes down to pull the entourage members away. Masters isn't worried though, he's got this he claims! He grabs Kalidah and uses all his strength to push him up and into the ring. Masters is going to climb in, but sees the bat... He chucks it into the ring and climbs up onto the apron, then decides he's going to go up top. Lotte slyly slips around and grabs the bat, going unnoticed. Masters is having a hard time balancing on professional ring ropes, but manages...

DIVING HEADBUTT!

NO ONE HOME!

Kalidah rolls toward the ropes and Lotte shows him the end of the bat, Kalidah grabs it and she skips around the ringside area to the opposite side. She gets up on the apron and Thomas politely asks her to get down, but she's very clearly trying to distract him. Masters gets up and bumps into Thomas, then questions why she's allowed to stay at ringside! The two get into a heated argument with Thomas stuck in the middle, so he obliges Masters' request and ejects her! Lotte is livid! She yells at Thomas, getting his full attention as he waves security down. Masters laughs as he backs up... but the crowd is eating this up as he turns around...

KALIDAH SWINGS THE BAT INTO HIS CHEST!

Masters' shirt - his own face across it - is torn open by the bat! The bat hangs there as he falls to a knee, Kalidah goes down also but Thomas sees the bat and tries to dislodge it from the shirt (and skin) as carefully as he can. Since he can only surmise what happened, he is unable to call a disqualification! Masters rolls out of the ring and crawls on the floor, nearly in tears as his bloody chest is now exposed. Kalidah has seemingly disappeared as there are several camera shots looking for him. Masters gets up and looks around, but a hand grabs his foot from underneath the ring! He stomps away and breaks free, falling on his ass as he backs up. Kalidah emerges from under the ring and Masters makes a beeline for the baseball bat, obtains it and wildly swings, missing Kalidah completely and hitting the ropes! The momentum sends him down and he drops the bat, just inches from the board his entourage set up a few minutes earlier. Kalidah stalks him down...

A FIREBALL!?

However, it came from Masters - not Kalidah for once - and doesn't quite connect flush. Masters grabs the bat and attacks Kalidah's leg, essentially chop blocking him as he turns away from the blast. Masters drops the bat and tries to stagger to his feet, but he trips... and Kalidah grabs him by the waist of his pants. Masters tries to grab the ropes, then the ring skirt, then he's all out of options. Kalidah thumps him with a forearm to the back and then tightens his grip around Masters waist...

GERMAN SUPLEX!

Masters crashes into the barbed wire board and chairs, sending them every which way. Kalidah takes a few moments to recover but does, then begins crawling up to his knees and feet. He grabs Masters and pulls him up, throwing him at the ring apron. With barbed wire still in Masters' back, Kalidah pulls it away before stuffing him inside. He slides in...

MANDIBLE CLAW!

Masters flails wildly, tapping out almost instantly as Thomas calls for the bell. Kalidah keeps it on for a few moments extra and then releases, exiting the ring without fanfare. He stands guard as the entourage comes rushing back out, but split to go to each adjacent side from Kalidah. Lotte comes back out all joyful and embraces her man, guiding him to the back as the camera zooms in on his ripped, bloody mask. We then get a shot of Masters being attended to, "NO!" being shouted repeatedly. "NO! I DIDN'T TAP!"

SAM HEWITT

Masters in there claiming he didn't tap, but the video will tell a different story. I cannot speak to the young man's wrestling ability, but his guts were on full display here this evening and although I can't condone his tactics - he gave Kalidah a good run.

BRIAN SHELZI

Yeah, I'll give him that. With some seasoning the kid could be something!

SAM HEWITT

SAM HEWITT

Welcome back to the program, fans. Harold's back out here and taking in tonight's main event with a front row seat, but I understand you have an announcement to make?

HAROLD BALZAC

Why yes, Sam, I do... but uh, which card am I supposed to read?

Hewitt and Shelzi exchange a puzzled look as a stage hand responds to Balzac's question off screen. Suddenly, Roy Vezina appears and takes Balzac's microphone!

ROY VEZINA

Cleveland, Ohio! My name is Roy Vezina and YES, I CAN-ADA! But so can YOU-S-A! My self-help program is without borders! We could even MEX-IT-UP!

The crowd groans.

ROY VEZINA

I'm sorry, Mr. Balzac, but I noticed your use of the cane and I just had to come out here and offer you a complementary copy of my self-help program. I think it would be very beneficial to you!

Vezina hands Balzac a book, a fan asks if it's available on Kindle!

Lynx has been around the Pollo System since it began in 2015, but this is his very first shot at a world's title.

BRIAN SHELZI

And all he had to do was win a lottery to get it.

Lynx makes it halfway down the aisle before turning back, the crowd murmurs then pops HUGE as MEZA comes walking out with a single crutch.

SAM HEWITT

Wow! We'd heard rumblings that the injury wasn't quite as severe as we thought, but MEZA looks great. He's obviously still using the crutch but he appears to be moving quite well.

BRIAN SHELZI

A big world title match and your tag team partner at your side for it... Sambo, this is Hallmark levels of sickening.

SAM HEWITT

Oh, lighten up.

"Ecstasy of Gold" by Metallica interrupts the feel goods as Pollo Dorado II emerges with the World's Cruiserweight Championship draped around his waist. Orville Newton in tow, holding a towel and a bucket of ice and water bottles.

BRIAN SHELZI

Newton's true calling is a cornerman, I swear.

The duo make their way down to ringside as MEZA is being introduced to Balzac by Lynx, who shakes his hand. Lynx and Balzac exchange a hug as Newton watches on. Dorado pays little attention to that, climbing inside the ring and ripping up to the corner turnbuckle as he unfastens the belt and taunts to a great reaction. Newton sets his stuff down in the corner and hesitantly walks over to greet Mr. Balzac, shaking his hand. Lynx gives him a nod and Newton awkwardly walks back to his corner, eyeing back to the booth.

MASON MARVELLE

Ladies and gentlemen, here to make the special prematch declaration for tonight's championship bout is... Pollo Road colour commentator, former referee, manager and legend on the Pacific Northwest circuit. "Purebred" Brian Shelzi.

Shelzi stands up at the booth.

BRIAN SHELZI

It is tonight here in Cleveland, Ohio that reigning champion Pollo Dorado II looks to make his fourth defense of the World's Cruiserweight Championship. Across the ring from him is his challenger, Lynx, who's last... "major"?... Harold, Rainbow Pro was small time. Honouring it tonight or not.

The crowd boos and laughs.

BRIAN SHELZI

...his last title match on American soil was here in Ohio in 2008 opposite El Hijo de Pollo and here in 2023, he looks to end Dorado's reign at 140 days. Tonight, these two men are vying for the highest honour in all of Pollo Road - may the best fighter win!

The crowd is getting amped up.

MASON MARVELLE
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your main event of the evening! It is for the Pollomania Lucha Libre World's Cruiserweight Championship and is to be fought to two falls, two submissions or a knockout with each fall having a thirty minute time limit! Introducing first from Tijuana, Mexico! He weighed in this morning at two hundred and two pounds... THIS IS LYNX!

Lynx raises both arms as MEZA claps for him on the apron.

MASON MARVELLE

His opponent from Parts Unknown! He weighed in this morning at one hundred and ninety five pounds... he is the current, reigning and defending PMLL World's Cruiserweight Champion... THE GOLDEN BIRD... POLLO DORADO TWO!

Dorado raises the title high and hands it to Thomas.

MASON MARVELLE
Your referee for this bout is Ted Thomas!

"TUBBY!" is shouted by the fans as he finishes raising the title above his head. He hands it off to a stage hand as the ring clears of everyone but him and the competitors. The bell sounds and a quick handshake precedes a circle about then a lock-up. Lynx goes behind and tries a takedown from the rear waist hold, but Dorado sits out and turns into a front chancery from the veteran. Dorado remains calm and rolls out of it, transitioning beautifully into an arm wringer and then bringing both men back to a vertical base. Lynx counters the arm wringer with one of his own and Dorado tries to reset, but the challenger takes him to the mat with an arm drag! Dorado gets to a knee and claps a couple of times.

SAM HEWITT

Pollo Dorado II showing some respect, admitting that Lynx got the best of him in that exchange. This title bout is going to be among the more interesting ones, Brian, I think so anyway. There's the two-out-of-three falls factor and there's the wildcard factor of the challenger.

BRIAN SHELZI

Oh, yeah. Lynx may not be a top contender in most circles, but when someone has been in the sport for as long as he has and he finally gets a crack at something that has long eluded him... well, he's going to be as dangerous as they come. Add into the fact that Dorado has had maybe an hour to prepare for Lynx, but he does have the benefit of Orville Newton there at ringside - who just absorbs information like a sponge.

Dorado picks an ankle, dropping Lynx to the mat and then applies pressure right above the knee. Keeping his shoulder pushing the leg upwards, he wraps his arm around the leg and tightens the grasp. Lynx tries to use his other leg to escape it, but Dorado uses his free arm to keep him from doing so. Lynx opts to bridge up, but the champion grabs the legs and rolls Lynx through but the challenger is still one step ahead as he picks the champion's ankle and puts him on the mat! Lynx applies a toe hold, then tries to turn it into a figure four leg lock but Dorado pushes him off. Lynx grabs the ropes and Dorado rolls backwards to his feet, Lynx charges at him but gets hip to-nope, Lynx lands safely and hip tosses Dorado instead! Lynx tries to grab a grounded side headlock, but Dorado reaches up and wraps his legs around Lynx's head - headscissors! Dorado grabs the arm and seems to be trying to work toward applying a cross armbreaker, but Lynx bridges up and plants his weight down on Dorado's leg - trapping it underneath! Lynx then rolls backwards, but Dorado still has him trapped in the headscissors. The champion grabs Lynx's arms as the challenger plants them on the champ's thighs, attempting to pull his head free. Now with an inverted surfboard applied, Dorado releases the headscissors and uses his feet to kick at Lynx's neck/back, sending him into a sitout pin.

2-NO!

Lynx rolls backwards again, right back to his feet. He tries to spring onto Dorado, but the champion uses his legs to prevent him from doing so. The two lock hands, knuckle lock... Lynx pulls him up to his feet, but Dorado plants his feet into Lynx's thighs and falls backwards with a monkey flip. Lynx and Dorado remained locked at the hands as Dorado does a backwards roll of his own, but the two fighters wind up in the same predicament as before but this time the roles are reversed. Dorado tries to pull Lynx up, but Lynx plants his feet in the legs of the champion and falls back... balancing him above him while he lays on the mat. Referee Ted Thomas gives him a scare as he begins counting, forcing Lynx to readjust and putting Dorado back on solid footing. Lynx tries to monkey flip Dorado and does... but the champion lands on his feet! Lynx gets up and nods, a smirk emerging from the mouth hole of the mask. MEZA slaps the mat, urging his mentor to keep on the attack.

BRIAN SHELZI

Quite the feeling out process here so far, I'm loving it.

SAM HEWITT

Each fall has a thirty minute time limit, so we could be here for a full ninety minutes if need be.

The next lock-up ends with Lynx snapmaring Dorado, but the champion rolls through and hits the ropes. He comes off, does a go behind but Lynx executes a standing switch. Dorado grabs Lynx's mask and leaps up into a high angle and snapmares the challenger! Lynx rolls through and Dorado tries to attack, but Lynx intercepts him with a body slam! Lynx tries to follow up but Dorado kicks him back into the ropes. Lynx charges the champ, who despite still being on the mat tries the trip up drop down, Lynx expertly dodges it, grabs an arm...

LA MAGISTRAL!

The crowd explodes! MEZA probably has the biggest response out of the entire venue as he slithers into the ring and hugs his friend, mentor and teammate. "That's one! One more!" he tells Lynx, while Orville Newton is on the opposite side talking to Pollo Dorado. "You are doing excellent, do not stray from the strategy."

SAM HEWITT

Pollo Dorado II just got pinned for the first time in Pollo Road, but that's only if you can hear me because this place is loud after that!

BRIAN SHELZI

They may have forgotten it's best of three falls, but I'll admit - it's a huge momentum swing for Lynx. The veteran loves his pinning combinations and it was the trusty Magistral that scored the three. Now we'll see how Dorado does here.

SAM HEWITT

It may seem like a tall mountain to climb, but all it takes is three seconds as you just saw and he's back in the match.

As the seconds finish up during the rest period, the bell sounds to begin the second fall. Lynx charges out of the corner but Dorado clocks him with an elbow!

MEZA slaps the apron, telling his partner to keep focused. Hewitt and Shelzi discuss how Lynx is in a unique position, being one fall away from being a world champion while Dorado has to win two. Shelzi adds perspective - saying that for Lynx, it's no different now than a standard match. He just has to remain focused. Both men get back up, but Lynx knees Dorado in the gut and then goes behind to apply an abdominal stretch. He even grabs Dorado's foot for extra leverage, but Dorado fights it... and gets it back down to the mat. The fight also allows Dorado to reverse the stretch into one of his own! Dorado tries to crank the pressure up, but Lynx is slowly slipping out and finally does - yanking the champion's leg out from underneath him and sending both to the mat. Lynx tries to grab the leg and get up, but the champ grabs Lynx's mask, forcing Lynx to bring his arm up to swat Dorado's hand away - Lynx realizes he's been played too late as Dorado uses this to small package Lynx!

Dorado grabbing at the mask, pulling on it just a bit to literally force Lynx's hand and he very nearly scores the tying fall with that small package.

Dorado is up quickly, grabbing Lynx's leg and spinning around with a toe hold. He grabs the free leg and tucks it... then rolls forward into an ankle lock! Lynx is dead centre of the ring!

HE TAPS!

The crowd has a mixed reaction as the bell sounds to end the second fall. Lynx slams his hands against the mat in frustration and limps over to his corner where MEZA attempts to cool him down. Newton greets Dorado with an excited hug, then begins talking strategy. There is a wide shot with just arena audio as Marvelle tells us we're seconds away from the third fall. The bell sounds and both seconds leave as the fans begin stomping in anticipation of the deciding fall. Champion and challenger rush out, Lynx limping a bit, and lock-up. Lynx quickly goes behind and drops on his rear end, kicking Dorado's legs forward. Lynx acts quickly, stepping on the backside of Dorado's knees and tucking the legs into his own, he then reaches for the arms but Dorado pushes up and knocks the challenger off balance!

BRIAN SHELZI

Lynx is already trying to avoid putting pressure on the ankle, which I don't think is injured - ankle locks hurt, it'll wear off in a few minutes especially as the momentum and adrenaline begins rebuilding. But Dorado does a great job of keeping calm, just doing the simple things - pushing up off the mat and knocking his challenger off balance. Beautiful work!

Unfortunately for the champion's brilliance, Lynx is right back up and bulldogs Dorado into a grounded side headlock then transitions down the body and back to the surfboard. This time, Dorado doesn't thwart him and Lynx gets the arms and rolls backwards - bringing Dorado face to face with the ceiling lights above - but he cannot hold it long and Dorado's arms are released! Dorado catches the mat and holds himself in a bridge! A reverse prawn hold of sorts!

Dorado wastes no time, getting up and grabbing Lynx - Irish whipping him into the corner. Lynx hits sternum first and backs into a rear waist hold, Dorado utilizes the Japanese leg roll clutch!

He completes the bridge!

2-LYNX HOOKS HIS ARMS IN A DOUBLE CHICKENWING!

DORADO'S SHOULDERS ARE DOWN!

MEZA's head is in his hands as Thomas signals two! Newton is in similar theatrics, but is relieved to see his partner is still in the match. Lynx decides to pummel Dorado with forearms to the back and heads out to the apron, climbs the turnbuckles... Dorado dropkicks his leg! Lynx crashes down to the floor from the middle rope and MEZA rushes as well as one can with a crutch, ditching it as he dives down to see if Lynx is OK! Dorado gets to his feet and sees Lynx, rushes up and springboards off the second rope as Newton tries to shout him down, but the champion soars over the top...

HE TAKES OUT MEZA AND LYNX!

Dorado lands hard and the replay shows the champion trying to re-direct himself in mid-air to avoid contact, but he only did to a degree. MEZA shoves Dorado off of Lynx as Newton rushes over to try and keep the peace. Dorado tries to speak some Spanish to MEZA, who tells him to shut up in response! Dorado mutters something about his arm to Newton as he's helped over to the guardrail, while Lynx grabs the ring apron and MEZA does what he can to shove him inside while Thomas is watching Dorado and Newton. The count has reached seven as Dorado nods repeatedly to Newton's questions, Newton hauls off back to his corner on the opposite side as Lynx dumps himself through the ropes at Thomas' feet - knocking the ref onto his bottom as the fans laugh. Dorado climbs onto the apron and MEZA grabs his crutch...

SAM HEWITT

You don't think...

The fans are mixed as MEZA is clearly thinking about it, but he shakes his head and uses it to prop himself back up as he goes back around to the adjacent side. Dorado grabs the top rope and briefly clutches his arm before Lynx stands up...

SLINGSHOT CROSSBODY!

ROLL THROUGH!

Dorado kicks out and the champion utilizes some jiu-jitsu, using an omaplata to pull himself out from underneath and then releases it - dives over - and REVERSE PRAWN HOLD! La Chiflada!

He got him!

Dorado launches to his feet in victory, holding one arm to his chest and one arm above his head. Newton crawls into the ring and trips getting to his feet, but catches himself on the ropes. MEZA gets up onto the apron and sits there, looking dejectedly into the crowd. Lynx is exhausted and lays there, no doubt taking in the moment that just slipped through his hands.

BRIAN SHELZI

Lynx has nothing to be ashamed of from this outing, Sambo. He gave it a helluva effort, I'm happy to be proven wrong.

SAM HEWITT

Pollo Dorado II coming in clutch with La Chiflada - a fake out, it's kind of la magistral ending in a reverse prawn hold and the fact that he pulled that off using an omaplata to set it all up... this is why he's a champion, Brian.

BRIAN SHELZI

No doubt. That's defense number four and I wouldn't be surprised to see him rattle off some more if his body holds up.

Lynx intercepts the belt from the stage hand and there's some murmurs as a trophy is brought to the ring. Lynx looks down at the belt and speaks to Dorado in Spanish, MEZA looks on from the apron just as curious as we are. However, there's no big swerve - Lynx offers his hand and the two shake. Lynx offers to fasten the belt for the champion, who's bad arm kind of makes the decision for him.

SAM HEWITT

Great sportsmanship from the champion and challenger! Fans, we've got familiar faces entering the ring.

After Lynx wraps the belt around Dorado's waist, a slew of dignitaries join in - notable among those are Harold Balzac and the original Pollo Dorado. The original Dorado grabs the microphone and is about to address his successor's big win when MEZA gets bumped on the apron and the mic is literally ripped from OG Dorado's hands.

AJ KNIGHT

Nobody cares!

It's a mixed reaction, skewing negative as AJ takes a seat atop the turnbuckles. Tensions are high as Lynx exits the ring first and helps MEZA down, but the duo remain at ringside to watch.

AJ KNIGHT

Look, I didn't want it to come to this, but since you're all trying to silence me... I'm putting the ball in YOUR court. I want the lie exposed, I want the truth revealed! AJ Knight vs. Pollo Dorado. Biggest match in Pollo Road.

AJ pauses with a sly smirk.

AJ KNIGHT

And to make sure you don't twist my words like you tend to do, I mean Pollo Dorado II. Two, Dos, D-O-S... well, P-O-S actually. Number two! I make the distinction because I know that as forgettable as the first one was...

The crowd oohs and OG Dorado isn't impressed.

AJ KNIGHT

What do you say, "golden" boy?

Dorado II goes to step forward, but Dorado I keeps him at bay.

AJ KNIGHT

Oh right, I forgot you aren't your own man. You have to play "Mother may I" with the only original that's not as good as its sequel. Come on! I know you sold your soul for that mask, you sell your balls too?

AJ springs off the turnbuckles and shoves PD2 backwards. A skirmish breaks out with security flooding the ring, AJ is shouting at Dorado II as he powders out. He turns and bumps into MEZA, smirks and pats him on the shoulder before leaving. Dorado I shakes his head at the scene as Newton keeps the ice pack on Dorado II's arm. We close with a shot of the men in the ring watching AJ back up the aisle, mouthing them off.
