OPEN ROAD '23 looks to kick off the new year with a bang. Matchmaker Mandeville Nelson assigned captaincy to the World's Cruiserweight Champion Reo Ojima and the number one contender for the belt, Pollo Dorado II, and allowed them each to pick a partner. Ojima picked Luke Marshall, which should come as no surprise given the two had win in tag team action back on 11/21 and Marshall might be the only one on the roster to match the champion's miserable attitude. Dorado picked MEZA, citing his performance in the recent Hijo Invitational. Nelson then drew the remaining four fighters names at random, which assigned David Troy and AJ Knight to Ojima's team and Eron Hunter and Red Tiger King to Dorado's.
Nelson felt confident that both teams were even and stated that he'd have more news about the match after Christmas.
