BRIEF HISTORY
Long considered the Ace of the Pollo brand of pro wrestling AJ makes his return to the brand that made him a star. After a near year long hiatus from the industry at large, AJ Knight has come back hoping to regain some of that fire that shot him to superstardom in the late 2010s.
PREVIOUS INJURIES
AJ's had two notable injuries both caused by the same person: His long time rival Justin Seville in early 2018. First is a nagging neck injury caused by a piledriver on a chair. It's not overly serious or career threatening, but it remains sore as he never gave it time to heal. The second is an elbow injury caused via ring post in Japan. This one is mostly covered by his elbow pad and well protected. Neither one is particularly well known thanks to AJ's pokerface
SPORTSMANSHIP
AJ will shake hands before and after the match, and rarely if ever attemtpts to injure his opponents during matches. He views wrestling as a gentleman's sport, but holds the seemingly contradictory view that cheating is a totally valid strategy. After all, why would it be so easy to get away with otherwise? That being said he looks down on outside interference as weak, and rarely goes out of his way to cheat, only doing so when deseperate. Weirdly enough he doesn't even seem to mind when people beat him with dirty tactic as long as its done on their own. If you live by the sword you die by the sword.
AJ is a Counter heavy Southern style technician with German Catch wrestling influences (Think Jay White meets William Regal). He tries to slowly break people down with strikes and holds to wear them down so he can put them away with his key offense. He uses mind games and taunts to annoy his opponents into making mistakes, and to dictate the pace of the match. AJ will do just about anything to get under his opponent's skin. He's not averse to taking the fight to the outside to rough up a technician, or keeping it on the mat to take powerhouses, brawlers and strikers out of their element. AJ has an uncommonly high ring IQ, knowing when to leave the ring, and usually knowing exactly how to get his opponent right where he wants them. AJ is also known to not kick out of pins until the last second to conserves energy.
