BRIEF HISTORY
MEZA grew up in a small town in New Mexico with an ironic name, Las Vegas. Despite boasting a name associated with neon signs and sin, Las Vegas is a rather quiet, dull town. The last time Las Vegas was mentioned in any publication, it was to report the last known location of Billy the Kid—who did not stay long.
MEZA, born, A.C. Meza was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico and stayed for 18 years. MEZA is the son of an auto mechanic who commutes several hours every day to a neighboring city for work. MEZA’s mother passed away shortly after his birth due to an unknown illness.
Due to his father’s work schedule and the inherent isolation of the small town, MEZA was forced to find ways to occupy his time. The proximity of the town to the Mexican border allowed MEZA to tune in to weekly wrestling television syndications. These programs often featuring luchadores like Los Pollos Excelentes, the original team of El Hijo de Pollo and Black Pollo V.
After graduating from high school, in a class of only 25 students, MEZA and his friend traveled to Austin, Texas with the hopes of kickstarting a wrestling career. It was there that MEZA worked until he was able to afford training sessions at Mad Max’s Wrestling School. After two years, MEZA was recruited by a promoter, who encouraged him to move to Mexico to pursue a lucha libre career.
Despite being born with the natural ability of speed, MEZA struggled with the traditional high-octane lucha libre style. His optimal wrestling ability is when he is able to manipulate and control the speed of the match. As a result, MEZA’s style reflects a wrestling DNA that is equal parts luchadore and technician. He loves the pace of a high flyer, but the methodical nature of a submission artist.
In 2021, MEZA was cast in the Pollo Network’s “The Next Cluckadore”, a new reality television series, hosted by Lynx, where participants competed in various wrestling challenges for a contract with Pollo Road (“PR”). On the final episode, MEZA emerged victorious in the competition and is scheduled to compete in PR.
In 2022, reality show became...errr...reality when MEZA's coach, Lynx, became his wrestling mentor in PR. They have since formed a tag team named The Patrimonio (Heritage). The duo collected numerous high profile wins but failed to capture tag gold.
in March 2023, MEZA suffered a broken leg against David Troy. He endured several months of a cast and rehabilitation before returning in July 2023 during the Masked League.
MEZA’s father, Joe, passed away in August 2023. Since then, MEZA has struggled with grief which manifested in his conflicts with Devlin Masters, Mad Max, and Kalidah.
PREVIOUS INJURIES
Broken leg in March 2023
SPORTSMANSHIP
MEZA’s weakness is his innate inclination to offer respect despite having no justification for it. He’ll rarely, if ever, is seen bending the rules for a victory. He won’t immediately offer a post-match handshake, but it is his preference to those willing to accept.
RING STYLE
MEZA is a lucha technician. He utilizes his speed to dictate the pace of the match while applying the art of submission to inflict damage. His move set requires an expertise in timing and execution rather than strength, so larger opponents should pose no issue offensively.
FINISHING MOVES
La Ayakita with a corner setup similar to a spear.
Humble Beginnings - Tsukasa Fujimoto's Infinity
SIGNATURE MOVES (Post Leg Injury - Current)
Cadena de la Muerte - Spinebuster immediately followed by a Kneebar (which can turn into a fatal fishhook depending on the circumstances)
Crucifijo Bomb - Crucifix Powerbomb (typically assisted by having the opponent on the top turnbuckle)
Superman Elbow
Middle Rope Frog Splash
Corner Tiger Feint Kick (sometimes to set up the Humble Beginnings)
FAVOURITE MOVES
Hesitation Dropkick
Lariat, specifically Sliding Lariat
German Suplex
Yurikamome
Spinning Wheel Kick
Floatover DDT
(Spinning) Backfist
Springboard Coffin Drop
Diving Crossbody
Corner Tiger Feint Kick (sometimes to set up the Humble Beginnings)
A hammerlock with neck crank submission
COUNTER MOVES
Dragon whip (if catching an opponent’s kick)
Backflip (in a German/Tiger/Dragon Suplex scenario), usually followed up by a standing Frog Splash.
Any situation where an armbar can be applied
