Pollo Road is a 750 word microfed, hybrid style. Simply put, the fed thrives on storytelling but those who wish to be on top and win titles and tournaments will have to be competitive, putting forth a consistent output in their promos and segments. There are no multiple month angles planned out meticulously, or handlers being guaranteed anything here - we take a starting point with a rough idea and go, creating roads and detours as needed which I feel this helps keep things organic and allows you the handler to read and react to things authentically.
Pollo Road was started in 2022 by Mandeville Nelson, a Canadian with previous administration experience in junior hockey, mixed martial arts and professional wrestling. After the Great Lakes wrestling scene had fallen into disarray during COVID, Nelson saw a chance to reestablish the scene. Securing sponsorship from Pollo Bucket, the People Against Earth Foundation and Fundoshi - Nelson sought to differentiate his new group from previous start up attempts with an increased focus on aesthetics - encouraging fighters to be more colourful and unique with their appearance - while still keeping the sports based product that the region has come to love. The group's name comes from its lead sponsor, Pollo Bucket - an American fast food chain with its own roots in professional wrestling.

BEHIND THE SCENES
Firstly, there is a zero tolerance policy for drama and toxicity. I want my fed to be a laid back and creative outlet for myself and the handlers that choose to join me, so anyone who is a detriment to that will be shown the door regardless of their standing.
Discord is our main base of operations and serves as our out-of-character communications and instant messenger system. It is not required that you have it, but it absolutely makes things easier.
RPs, role plays or promos - whatever your preferred jargon - are judged on overall entertainment quality. I don't have a specific rubric that I consult, I try to go based off of how I feel after reading it. Your promo should obviously pertain to your match, directly or indirectly, and give me an insight into your character's thoughts, feelings and outlook heading into it. Basically, I want you to make the other handlers and I become invested in whether your character wins or loses their next match. There are also a few simple, straightforward rules to adhere to when writing your promo(s): no hate speech or discrimination, no law breaking, do not attack staff or other handlers' characters in your promos and if you want to use another handler's character in your promo, then please get their permission first. RP deadlines are always the Saturday at Midnight EST / 9 PM PST before the Monday event, but this deadline is always posted on the card.
STAFF BIOGRAPHIES
DUKE WOMACK - General Manager
Oklahoma's own! After twenty years as a wrestler, Womack began promoting in the American Heartland but his financing fell through and left him out in the cold. Returning to the Great Lakes area where he competed in the 90s and 2000s, Womack has been handpicked by the Laurentide Athletic Commission to maintain law and order in Pollo Road.
SAM HEWITT - Play by Play Commentary
Often referred to as Sammy or Sambo (Shelzi), Hewitt calls the action as straight as he can. The calm voice and delivery is a stark contract to the frenetic action inside the ring. His laid back, low key style is similar to old-school announcers like Gordon Solie, Kent Walton and Russ Davis.
"PUREBRED" BRIAN SHELZI - Color Commentary
Thirteen years as a wrestler, three as a manager and two as a referee. Washington state's Shelzi offers some valuable insight in the broadcast booth. He is similar in style and tone to Jesse Ventura, quick to compliment heels on "efficient" strategies and chastises good guys for their "righteousness".
MASON "THE MOUTH" MARVELLE - Ring Announcer
It usually isn't nice to say someone has a big mouth, but Mason Marvelle most certainly does. He's a tremendous announcer and gets the crowds fired up with his introductions, but if you strike up a conversation with him - you're going to be there all afternoon.
DR. NICK PIERSON - Ringside Physician
Pierson will never win a popularity contest amongst the roster, but that doesn't stop him from doing his job with only fighter safety in mind - never their pride. He worked in mixed martial arts during the sport's formative years, but was brought on board by the Laurentide Athletic Commission in 2016 to oversee their professional wrestling division.
TED "TUBBY" THOMAS - Senior Referee

TED "TUBBY" THOMAS - Senior Referee
Short and stout, "Tubby" is a pretty jovial man. Although laid back, Thomas earned his stripes by being stern and fair and he's one of the best at keeping an eye on things when the average ref's head would be spinning.
GIDEON DUBE - Referee
Once a feared enforcer, playing in both the Ontario and Quebec junior leagues. The 6'1" / 219lbs Dube isn't going to let you push him around.
